Christmas Pictures

Shelby and her cousin Allie went to have their Christmas pictures made, what an adventure.

They turned out great, despite the wait and fussiness on the way there. After trying several minutes to get Shelby to smile she finally grinned one good time and it was on from then on. I couldn't be happier with them. Allie did such a good job holding Shelby for the many poses and through the many attempts to keep Shelby from falling over and getting her to smile.
What a good cousin she is!

I cannot wait until Christmas! It is going to be so amazing seeing the look on her face when she sees all her presents. I know she will not really know what is going on but it will still be loads of fun. I will be sure to tell you all about it..........

Thanksgiving

Shelby had her first Thanksgiving and she had a blast. She had a great time visiting with her cousins. She said she can't wait until she gets to eat Turkey!

We got to see her roll over for the first time and boy has she been doing it every since.

It is so amazing to watch her change and grow. When she gets rolled over it is like a major accomplishment for her, she just smiles and laughs. Her daddy is yet to see her do it but I know he will get to see her do it soon.

Shelby just loves her quilt Jeanne made for her. I wanted to take her picture while she was smiling and the other times I have thought about it she was not in the best of moods.

Shelby is now four months old! She was a cute little flower for her 1st Halloween.

At her four month doctors appointment she was 13 lb 4 oz 23 3/4 inche long.

She has started laughing and cooing. We are just amazed each day with all that she is doing and how much she is growing. The doctor said we could go ahead and start her with cereal in the next month and greens after that. The pictures will come when we start that.

Shelby enjoys getting playdates with her BFF's Lacy, Ragen and her cousin Aubrie.

Mommy enjoys them too because that means I get to visit with all her Aunts. We have tried the cereal thing a time or two, I know it is going to take a while for her to get used to it but I think she will do good. Next comes the green veggies that I guess I will have to feed her because her daddy doesn't eat them so I know he will have a hard time feeding them to her.

I am looking forward to Shelby's first Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know she will be amazed at the tree, she just loves lights.

Shelby was home and doing great the first day.

When night fell I was beginning to get a little worried about how to tuck her in and how well I thought the night would go. She went down and slept a few hours at a time, me on the otherhand could not fall asleep no matter how hard I tried. I was up every hour checking on her and making sure she was okay. The first night was rough for me but it was morning before I knew it. Daddy went to work the following day because he had spent a week with me in the hospital after having her. I was hesitant about him going back the first real day at home but we bonded alot and got lots of visits from grandma and Robin and her bff Lacy.

At her first check up she was doing great and growing...................

By her one month check up she was growing at a great pace and putting on the ounces.

At two months she was 9 lb's so we knew were feeding her good and she was happy.

Our Little Bundle

Our little bundle of joy spent the first night in the nursery and the next morning they had to take her to the NICU where little did I know she would have to spend the next two weeks. Due to the fact that she was a month early she had a few minor things they wanted to check out. She had fluid and wasn't able to maintain the correct body temp. I was a basket case knowing my little one could not be with me. I would make visits to see her every chance I could. All the staff in the NICU were very nice and good to our baby.
I was finally released to go home on July 12th. That was the hardest thing in the world to do. I couldn't imagine leaving her at the hospital.
I would go visit her everyday and spend most of the day with her just holding her and talking to her. I would just cry everytime I had to leave her. She got the body temp maintained and the fluid was almost gone but she wasn't feeding correctly so she had to stay until she could take all of her bottles when they fed her. It took some time for her to get it down but baby girl did great and got to come home on July 19th. It was so scary driving home with her because now she was all ours.

Okay, so I am new at this blogging thing but I wanted to start one for our family.

Shelby is now four months old and is the light of our lives. I cannot imagine life without her and an absolutely amazed at her daily.

A little bit about our journey thus far...........it all started in November of 2008! After trying to figure out why I was late I finally decided to take a pregnancy test. Good News! We were expecting.

Things were going well for the first five months or so and we were just tickled. Then somewhere about May my blood pressure deciede it wanted to go up. After several weeks of keeping a close check on it and it getting no better the doc decided to take me out of work to see if that would make it better. No suck luck...the next step was making weekly appearances at the dr office for blood pressure checks and non-stress tests to make sure baby was doing good. She was always doing as needed it was just mom that didn't want to cooperate.

By the middle of June I was making frequent trips to Women's Hospital for blood pressure checks and monitoring. By the end of June I was making daily trips for monitoring so they really got to know me there. All of the staff there were really nice, I might add. Mom was getting rather aggrivated at that point because I knew the outcome of every trip. Baby was doing excellent every time which I was so thankful for and the problem was mom. On July 3rd we had been at Women's almost all day and they decided to let me go home with the understanding that if my blood pressue got up above 160's over 100 to come back the next day.

Well low in behold it was up the next day and guess what it was July 4th. I decided to pack a bag just in case. Well we were sitting there waiting on the dr to come in and Mike said wouldn't it be something to have our baby today......bingo....he was right.

At 7:00 Dr. Grewal came in and said "well it looks like you are going to have a baby tonight" I was in shock. I had all of about 30 minutes to gather myself make a few phone calls and it was time for my C-SECTION! I was not looking forward to that, I was pettrified to say the least. My mom made it there just in time to calm me down and tell me that it would all be alright and the nurse was in to start the IV.

They wheeled me down to surgery and we were off. I have never been more scared in my life. I think I was at the point of almost freaking out in the process of all that had been going on in the previous weeks and the anticipation of the baby. I was very excited to finally get to meet my precious baby. That was the most wonderful day of my life.

Drumroll please..........................

At 8:15 p.m. out came Shelby Elizabeth Jumpe!

5 lb 1 oz 17 3/4 inches long and just perfect.

I got a good look at that precious little miracle and just started crying. Well so did she and that was just the beginning..........
